Our picks for the best gaming laptops for every type of gamer and according to your budget and money. This is list of Best gaming laptop 2022.
Best Gaming Laptop 2022
The best gaming laptops 2022 come in all shapes and sizes, for different needs and budgets. Because while a modified $ 5,000 + model with the highest-end graphics and the best screen might give you the best gaming laptop experience, most of us can’t afford such a rig. Our picks here are often high-end models (we’re an enthusiast site, after all), but most come in a variety of configurations at various price points. You can see list of best gaming laptop 2022.
Thankfully, there are now more gaming laptop options than ever before, from budget to desktop replacements. Some come with full-sized Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards, while others opt for the more efficient Max-Q designs that allow for a thinner chassis and (sometimes) quieter fans. While many of the best gaming laptops come with a 1080p display and high refresh rates, some include 4K screens, so you can choose between fidelity and resolution. Several gaming laptops reach speeds of 360Hz.
There are also more options than ever in the components. While Intel is still a popular choice, AMD’s Ryzen processors are becoming more common, although most laptops in general still use Intel. As for GPUs, Nvidia’s RTX GPUs are found in many more laptops, although AMD is slowly starting to pair its graphics cards with successful CPUs for what it calls an “AMD advantage”.
The latest processor technologies include 12th generation Intel “Alder Lake” processors, which use a hybrid design with performance and efficiency cores, and AMD’s Ryzen 6000 CPUs. Like desktops, anything with the latest graphics cards can still be hard to find right now due to the global component shortage.
To help you find the best gaming laptop today, we’ve compiled a list of the best models we’ve recently tested and reviewed. For more information on how to narrow down the list of best gaming laptop considerations, check out our buyer’s guide to the best gaming laptops. But here are some quick tips to help you get started on the path to the right portable gaming system for you.
While many gamers can go to desktops to get the most out of their money, try lugging a tower, monitor, and keyboard into their backpack. When you need powerful gear to take with you, there’s no substitute for a gaming laptop.
The selections in this list should be ready to run Windows 11, if it’s not already pre-installed.
You Can See These Things First Then Buy Gaming Laptop
- First See GPU: Most games are dependent on the GPU, and those aren’t upgradeable. If you splurge on a powerful GPU now, you’ll be gaming comfortably for a few years.
- Must Check You Can Upgrade Some Parts Later: While the best CPUs for gaming and GPUs are almost always soldered down, most gaming laptops let you replace the RAM and storage, so you can buy cheaper now and add more memory and a bigger hard drive or SSD down the road.
- Must Check Battery Life: Very few gaming notebooks get 8 hours or more on a charge, and you need the power supply to get the best gaming performance anyway. However, we’ve seen some strong times from AMD’s Ryzen processors, and Nvidia suggests its improved Optimus technology may help turn the tide.

REASONS TO AVOID FROM THIS LAPTOP
Fans Run Loud | Display Is Dimmer Than Prior Model | Expensive At Top-Tier Configurations |
INFORMATION
If you’re looking for a laptop with desktop-level power, the MSI GE76 Raider is about as close as you’ll get, though you may also have to spend a ton of money to get there. Still, with its high-end components like the Intel Core i9-12900HK and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.
We’d be remiss to point out that the Raider has a large RGB light bar on the front, which, when combined with per-key lighting, makes for quite an effect in the dark (or you can turn it all of if you prefer something a bit less showy).
CAMPERISON
The 17.3-inch, 1080p display goes up to 360 Hz, which is great for E-sports players, but everyone else might want to consider a 1440p or 4K display, depending on available configurations.
We tested this laptop at $3,999, which is enough to make you tear up when you check your bank account. That’s an awful lot to spend on a laptop (we imagine DDR5 memory partially brings that price up), but it’s also the best performer we’ve seen recently.
Razer Blade 15 (2022) (RATING 4 STAR)
Best Thin and Different Light Gaming Laptop
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
Intel Core i7-12800H | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti | 15.6 inches, 2560 x 1440, 240 Hz | 4.4 pounds / 2.01 kg |

REASONS TO AVOID
Mixed Productivity Performance | Competitors Have Better Screens | Price |
INFORMATION
Razer has streamlined the Blade 15 line, eliminating the “Advanced” and “Base” models, but what’s left is a very nice, thin and elegant gaming laptop. Although the Blade 15 performs well (with a Core i7-127800H and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti in the models we reviewed), it’s still popular because it weighs just 4.4 pounds and is 0.57 inches thinner.
CAMPERISON
Various ports such as Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-C and Type-A, and SD card readers are available, so there is ample expansion for peripherals and additional game storage. I’ve found some competing gaming laptops to outperform by non-gaming standards, but they’ll also perform well in terms of productivity.
For Razer’s premium look and feel, you have to pay a premium. This laptop starts at $2499 and we reviewed it for $2999. It’s expensive, but it’s been one of our favorite gaming laptops for years.
Alienware x17 R2 (RATING 4 STAR)
Best 17-Inch Laptop For Gaming
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
Intel Core i9-12900HK | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti | 17.3-Inch, 1920 x 1080, 360 Hz | 6.82 Pounds / 3.09 Kg |
- TODAY’S BEST DEAL
REASONS TO BUY
Excellent Productivity And Gaming Performance | Stunning Design And Best Angle |
REASONS TO AVOID
More Expensive | A Bit Larger And Heavier Than The Competition | Battery Life Could Be Better |
INFORMATION
The Alienware x17 R2 comes with the most powerful parts on the market: Intel Core i9-12900HK and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. In our review, the laptop performed well in both gaming and productivity.
The design of Alienware, which debuted last year, is spectacular. It’s still definitely a gaming laptop, but it’s futuristic and minimalist. That said, it’s a bit bigger than some of its competitors and at 6.82 LBS, you probably don’t want to take it too often. If you have a little more cash, I highly recommend the optional $50 Cherry MX mechanical keyboard. This feels good and everyone who has tried it enjoys it.
Acer Nitro 5(RATING 4 STAR)
The Best Budget Gaming Laptop
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
Intel Core i5-12500H | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti | 15.6-Inch, 1920 x 1080, 144 Hz | 5.51 Pounds / 2.5 Kg |
TODAY’S BEST DEALS
REASONS TO BUY
Affordable | Clean Design | Decent Performance For The Price |
REASONS TO AVOID
Way Too Much Bloatware | Display Is A Little Washed Out |
INFORMATION
The Acer Nitro 5 has always been the best gaming laptop for those on a smaller budget. Our latest model, tested using the Intel Core i5-12500H and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, offers the right price / performance ratio if you want to turn off settings in some games.
Acer has given the Nitro 5 a new, more adult design. It has less angles and fewer red accents, so it does not scream as much as a gaming laptop. We’ve seen the aesthetic popularity of expensive laptops, and we’re pleased to see a lighter design in the $ 899.99 gaming laptops. (Don’t worry, there’s still an RGB backlit keyboard for those who prefer that.
CAMPERISON
There is also little room for improvement on the interior. Acer includes a SATA cable in the box for those who want to open up a laptop and add a 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD. RAM, NVME SSD and Wi-Fi card are also readily available.
The big downside to a budget purchase is the amount of Acer bloatware already installed on this thing. You may want to spend some time removing some plugins.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (RATING 4 STAR)
A Thin, All-AMD Gaming Laptop
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS | AMD Radeon RX 6800S | 14-Inch 2560 x 1600, 16:10, 120 Hz | 3.79 Pounds / 1.72 Kg |
TODAY’S BEST DEALS
REASONS TO BUY
Long Battery Life | Sleek, Portable Design | Asus Finally Added A Webcam | Surprisingly Good Speakers |
REASONS TO AVOID
Some Keyboard Touchpoints Run Uncomfortably | Warm | Price |
INFORMATION
If you’re a PC gamer who travels a lot, a thin PC like the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 could be a good choice. Zephyrus uses company-specific features such as AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, AMD Radeon RX 6800S, Smart Shift (power transfer between CPU and GPU) and Smart Access memory.
CAMPERISON
For the latest update, Asus has added a webcam that was noticeably missing on previous models. All AMD models have moved to a higher aspect ratio of 16:10.
Battery tests have shown that Zephyrus has been running for over 10 hours and 30 minutes, suggesting it could run all day on this laptop when not gaming. However, it is a little expensive. The Zephyrus starts at $1599.99, while we tested it with higher specs of $2499.99.
Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 G733(RATING STAR 4)
The Best E-Sports Gaming Laptop
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 | 17.3-Inch, 1920 x 1080, 360 Hz | 5.95 Pounds / 2.7 Kg |
TODAY’S BEST DEALS
REASONS TO BUY
360 Hz Refresh Rate | Comfortable Keyboard | Strong Productivity Performance | Bassy Audio |
REASONS TO AVOID
Divisive Design | Short charging cable |
INFORMATION
If you want to do it like an E-Sports pro, you want a laptop with the fastest screen. The Asus ROG Strix Scar G733 delivers a 360Hz refresh rate on its FHD display with premium components that crank e-sports titles to reach the frame rate it can actually use.
CAMPERISON
The design looks great but has an interesting combination of dark materials and clear plastic. It’s reminiscent of a ’90s hot-rod machine and MP3 player, which might cringe some people.
But the comfortable keyboard, strong overall performance, and bass sound all contribute to a powerful gaming experience, even if you don’t like looking at your laptop.
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (RATING STAR 4.5)
A 16-inch E-Sports Option
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 | 16-Inch, 2560 x 1600, 165 Hz | 5.4 Pounds / 2.45 Kg |
TODAY’S BEST DEALS
REASONS TO BUY
Beautiful, High-Res Display | Strong Performance | Comfortable Keyboard |
REASONS TO AVOID
Bulky Design | Middling Audio |
INFORMATION
If you’re willing to sacrifice refresh rates for higher resolutions, check out the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. Some other gaming laptops opt for 300Hz, but the Legion’s 165Hz, 2560 x 1600 screen is stunning on its own. It also has an aspect ratio of 16:10, which allows for productive use.
CAMPRISON
Our test unit was equipped with a Ryzen 7 5800H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070, which delivered competitive performance in the gaming benchmark suite. Our system also includes 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. We were also impressed with this laptop’s keyboard, which seems to take advantage of the excellence of Lenovo’s business-oriented ThinkPad.
However, the system is a bit rough. If you don’t want to do large amounts of work, you can consider the other options on this list.
Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 SE GX551 (RATING STAR 4)
The Best Dual-Screen Gaming Laptop
SPECIFICATIONS
CPU | GPU | DISPLAY | WEIGHT |
AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 | 5.6-Inch, 3840 x 2160 Primary Display, 3740 x 1100 Screen Pad Plus | 5.29 Pounds / 2.4 Kg |
TODAY’S BEST DEALS
REASONS TO BUY
Excellent Productivity Performance | Bright, Colorful Displays | Good Battery Life (For A Gaming Laptop) |
REASONS TO AVOID
No Webcam | Input Devices Are Awkward |
INFORMATION
Asus’ latest ROG Zephyrus Duo uses AMD’s top-end RYZEN 9 5900HX paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 for powerful results, while using a second screen that lifts up to provide more ventilation to improve cooling.
The two displays are both bright and colorful, and at a bit over 4 hours and 52 minutes on our battery test, it’s endurance is good (for a gaming notebook, anyway).
CAMPERISON
The keyboard and mouse are in an awkward position, like most dual-screen notebooks on the market (most people will likely use an external mouse for gaming). So you’ll have to decide if that second screen — which is great for chat programs, gaming guides or music apps — is worth a more difficult typing experience.
