About Illinois Wesleyan Scholarships 2025

 Full undergraduate tuition is covered by the Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarship 2025–2026 for international students. Full tuition scholarships at Illinois Wesleyan University are available, ranging in price from $16,000 to $30,000.

Merit-Based Scholarships, President’s Scholarships, and Need-Based Financial Aid are available to overseas students applying to Illinois Wesleyan University’s (IWU) first-year bachelor’s programs. Students may be qualified for IWU-funded scholarships, loans, and campus employment opportunities in addition to merit-based awards.

This grant aims to assist new first-year students who wish to enroll in the University’s undergraduate degree program.

 Scholarships at Illinois Wesleyan University come in two varieties:

Eligibility Criteria

 Applicants for Illinois Wesleyan Scholarships & Financial Assistance must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Students from abroad must apply.
  • English, a foreign language, mathematics, laboratory science, and social science must all be taken in a minimum of fifteen (15) academic units.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of B is required for applicants.
  • Properly prepared personal statements.
  • Students’ school and community activities.
  • A Teacher Assessment Form, a letter of reference from a guidance counselor or academic teacher.
  • International students’ TOEFL results.

How to Apply:

 Students interested in admission to University must submit the following:

  • Common Application or IWU Application (there is no fee or preference for either application)
  • Official copies of your transcripts from all secondary institutions and colleges you have attended or are presently enrolled in. Grades from the last three years should be included on transcripts. English-language and notarized academic records are required.
  • Exam for English proficiency. The IELTS, TOEFL, GTEC, or Duolingo English Test scores are recognized. IWU accepts TOEFL scores from multiple exam dates and My Best scores. IELTS 6.5 band score, TOEFL 80 iBT (Internet-based), and 105 on the Duolingo English Test are the minimum scores needed for admission. More than two-year-old scores will be accepted.
  • English proficiency exam waivers are available to eligible applicants upon request.
  • Common Application or IWU Application (there is no fee or preference for either application)
  • Official copies of your transcripts from all secondary institutions and colleges you have attended or are presently enrolled in. Grades from the last three years should be included on transcripts. English-language and notarized academic records are required.
  • One English-language letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor who can vouch for your academic standing and proficiency in speaking, listening, and reading the language.
  • Finance Statement for the Family International students is admitted according to need at IWU. Applications are assessed without further consideration of the ability to pay after making the required financial contribution of $10,000 annually (need-blind).
  • Please email a photocopy of your passport in.jpg or.pdf format to international@iwu.edu. If you need a current passport, do let us know. Your application for admission will be completed on time as a result.
  • Scores from standardized tests. One of the SAT, ACT, 3 AP test scores, 3 IB exams or IB Diploma (on track for the diploma), and 3 A-Level exam results must be submitted. There are no SAT Subject Tests necessary for us.

Fine Arts Applicants:

 If you apply the School of Music or Theatre Arts, you can submit your audition materials online.

  • If you apply for admission to the School of Art, your portfolio may be submitted.
  • The relevant testing agencies shall send official copies of test score results directly to Illinois Wesleyan. A school representative must certify a copy as an official copy of the original before being mailed or sent via email.
